The APEEEL2 Accueil Periscolaire service enables Primary pupils who do not benefit from the CPE (Centre pour l’Enfance) the opportunity to take part in our Periscolaire activities. From Monday to Friday, at the end of the school class, and until 18:00, pupils attending the Accueil Periscolaire are looked after by our educators, thus remaining on the School premises to take part in our Periscolaire activities. Pupils can register to the service for the entire week or only on selected half days.

As you may remember, InterParents invited all parents of the European Schools to an online meeting with the Central Office of the European Schools (OSG) on Monday 05/02/2024 to get information on the new call for tenders for school trips. The minutes of the meeting will be included in our APEEEL2 Newsletter of March 2024.

Registrations for APEEEL2 Periscolaire Summer Camps will open in PAMS on 23/04 @ 10:00 for Secondary (with a choice of 7 camps) and on 24/04 @10:00 for Primary (with a choice of 2 camps). Detailed programs will be published on the week starting on 15/04.

We would like to congratulate all participating Nursery and Primary pupils for their wonderful creativity in their interpretation of this School year’s theme “Christmas food and traditions”. A small ceremony took place on Tuesday 12/12 in the presence of our two Directors, Mr van Daal and Mr Richard. Winners in each class level from P1 to P5 were awarded a prize, kindly offered by APEEEL2.

Mr Ghidini’s speaker event, “Lasciami Volare” was an emotional speech about loss, hope and resilience which had a huge impact on our parents and children alike … Gianpietro Ghidini shared his story, how he approached the loss of his son Emanuele, and the role that drugs played in this context. Parents from both Lux1 and Lux2 were invited to join an evening session, while their children in Secondary had the opportunity to listen to Gianpietro during the day.

National inspectors from Croatia, Greece and Romania will soon visit our School as per enclosed calendar. Our Greek class reps, as well as our contacts for SWALS parents have been informed so they can meet with the inspectors upon their availability. Meetings with national inspectors can be an enriching experience and remain an excellent opportunity for parents to discuss educational programs and issues specific to their language section. With the exception of SWALS parents, these meetings are reserved for parents’ class representatives who have registered with our association and are therefore on our Class Reps distribution list, renewed each school year.

The Ceremony was rich in emotion and linguistic diversity. Attended by Mr Van Daal, our School Director, and Mr Richard, our Deputy Director of the Nursery & Primary schools, a video including many photos from the P5 school year was shown to remember all the wealth of activities the chidlren have enjoyed during the year. Our APEEEL2 President, Mr Schmutz and Vice-President of Nursery & Primary Ms Vasiloglou ended the event with a speech, before inviting all to enjoy the buffet, courtesy of APEEEL2.

Tuesday 13 June 2023 was an exceptionally important day for our P5 pupils, as 224 of them visited the Secondary School on “Transition Day”. As a Parents’ Association, we understand the importance of such a day in greatly facilitating the integration of S1 pupils next September, and considerably reducing the stress of their first day in Secondary school.

Once more, places during the opening of the reservations for our 2023 Summer Camps were taken by storm on our online PAMS platform on 10 & 11/05 ! Only VERY FEW places remain available on some of our Secondary camps (Light-Camera Action / Climing / Multisport). We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all our member parents for their trust. We are truly sorry for the parents who didn’t succed in getting the place(s) they wanted, especially for our Primary camp, now full.

The traditional BOOK FAIR organized by Les Mots de Zaza will be held in May from 8:30 until 18:00 at Lux2 in the Primary building, offering books for sale in English, French, German, Italian, Greek, Hungarian and Czech to increase children’s interest in reading. To comply with the School security policy, the date of this event will only be communicated to all our parents in our April Newsletter and via our Class Reps network.

Around 50 parents attended the “Bee Secure conference for parents” organized by APEEEL2, in collaboration with the School Secondary advisors on Thursday 20 April 2023. The audience appreciated the warnings given on cookies, weak passwords, fake news, as well as issues relating to AI generated photos or videos… All documentation including guidelines and the evening’s presentation are enclosed.
