Bring your Bottle,
Ride your Bike to School Today
It’s Sustainable Week this May !

Apeeel2 and the School would like to invite all  parents and their children to join the first experience of a Sustainable School from May 20 to May 24 in Lux2.

Our Students are encouraged to come to school in a eco-friendly way (e.g., by bus, bike, skateboard….), to use public water bringing a reusable bottle and avoid plastic during those days.

This is the first time that this sustainable week is organised in Lux2, this year this is a pilot project mainly in the Italian section in Secondary, and we would like to make it more general to all sections and cycles from next school year. However, all students can participate to the following initiatives:

>>> Mobility Week for all pupils

We would like to thank our partner ATSEEE who accepted to offer free rides on that week (20-24 May 2019) to promote public transport. This is an opportunity for students to test ATSEEE buses that week for free and then to enrol for next school year (registrations started on 02/05 until 01/06, please go on their website ATSEEE

We kindly remind you that all other buses (commune buses, Bus 28 and all buses started by 9… are free for students from our school).

In this context, we kindly remind you that like every year, our school is participating to the Luxembourgish initiative Mam Vélo an d’Schoul to promote cycling in Luxembourg. Please visit our website to get more details and to register (project dates from 15/05 til 31/07) Mam Velo an Dschoul

>>> Donation of used clothes & sport shoes

Students can donate their used clothes and sport shoes for a second life to charity foundations :

  • Containers from Red Cross will be available for used clothes in the Administrative building entrance.
  • For your old or used sport-shoes (all sizes), you can bring them in a container located in the secondary building, a S7 student from the EN section is running a charity project to bring them to children living in Fiji. More information on The Barefoot Project

>>> Survey to calculate our school foot print carbon

Please take part to this online survey on Online Survey so we will know our school carbon foot print and start taking actions.

>>> Discussions with guests for Secondary pupils

During the week, some secondary pupils will be exposed to key sustainability topics with participation from experts of the University of Luxembourg and the Institute of Science and Technology. They will have the opportunity to collaborate in recycling initiatives, taste chocolate from Fair Trade and many other activities teachers will cover in their class, regarding the United Nations Agenda 2030 Sustainable Developments Goals. A more detailed program for the concerned classes will be sent soon.

If you as parents would like to help APEEEL2 by supporting all these initiatives in our school, please do not hesitate to contact APEEEL2 on email us

Wishing you all an efficient sustainable week !
